Introduction

If you’re interested in joining us as a fellow volunteer, please click here.
Kacie’s Cause is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers, all of whom are dedicated to minimizing the effects of substance use disorder in our communities. Many of us have lost loved ones to drug overdoses. Many of us were fortunate enough to have loved ones survive the fight against this horrible disease.
Some of us are just persons who recognize the great toll that substance use has taken on our communities and want to make a difference. We range in age from college students to senior citizens.
We come from various professions, including business, education, healthcare, law, clergy, and many more. We hope that you consider joining this passionate group of individuals dedicated to making a difference in the world.
Our History
Kacie’s Cause was started in 2013 by Andy & Donna Rumford following the death of their daughter Kacie to an overdose of heroin. Kacie was a lovely young woman with a sincere desire to change the world, however, her addiction took her too soon. Kacie’s Cause was started as a way for the family to turn tragedy into a positive in Kacie’s memory.
To learn more about Kacie and her story, check out her memoriam here. This effort represents a crusade to help other families avoid the heartbreak of the loss of a loved one to substance use disorder.
Since its small beginning Kacie’s Cause has grown into a group of dozens of volunteers serving tirelessly in eight different chapters. We hope that check out the actions of the chapter nearest you. To learn more about our chapters, click here.
